Course Description
This digital course, called Exploring Inclusive Teaching, you’ll explore strategies for fostering an inclusive and equitable classroom climate. You’ll also learn how to maximize your instructor presence, design course materials that are accessible for all students, and incorporate anti-racist teaching practices. By the end, you’ll have a toolkit of strategies to create a classroom where all students feel valued and supported.
Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of this digital course, you will be able to:
- Identify strategies for maximizing instructor presence.
- Recognize approaches to cultivating an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment.
- Explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to make course content accessible and engaging for all students.
- Explain the foundational elements of anti-racist pedagogy and ways to incorporate these concepts into teaching practices.

Expectations
This digital course consists of 4 lessons, which altogether should take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. Additional resources or tips for further exploration are provided at the end of each lesson. Each lesson culminates in a knowledge check to confirm what you have learned and to enable you to move on to the next lesson.
